John Derrick   Richard Chong
     

John has experience providing corporate and personal tax planning and compliance as well as accounting and assurance services for small and medium sized owner-managed businesses. He worked in small and medium CA firms throughout the lower mainland before articling with Ernst & Young’s Vancouver office.

John is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and an undergraduate diploma in Financial Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. John was awarded The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants National Honour Role for the UFE; an honour given to the top 50 of over 2,700 writers across Canada!

 

Richard Chong has over 12 years of work experience in financial management, assurance, accounting, risk management, taxation, and business advisory. He also has experience in conducting financial and compliance audits. Richard has previously worked as an assurance manager with Ernst & Young LLP in Vancouver and was an auditor with the government of British Columbia.

Richard is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.

Debbi-Jo Matias   Debbi-Jo Matias
     

Debbi-Jo works closely with entrepreneurs in a variety of industries to address their personal and corporate tax and accounting needs. She specializes in serving clients in the film and television industry. Debbi-Jo works directly with all of her clients to help them understand their businesses and to increase their personal net worth. Before starting her own practice, Debbi-Jo developed her expertise through a career in public practice which began in Vancouver in 1991 and carried her to New York, Toronto and back to Vancouver working for international and regional accounting firms with clients in music, film and television and owner-managed businesses.

Debbi-Jo was certified as a Chartered Accountant after obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba majoring in accounting and small business. Debbi-Jo is a supporter of women in business as a mentor for The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs BC and a resource for Women in Film and TV Vancouver. She also participates as a member of the Richmond city council’s Economic Advisory Committee.


Steven has over 11 years of experience providing tax and accounting services to owner-managed business. He works closely with entrepreneurs in various industries including financial services, real estate and fashion to provide corporate and personal tax advice and accounting services. Steven also has experience negotiating with the Canada Revenue Agency to assist his clients with complex tax issues.

Steven is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and a U.S. Certified Public Accountant in Washington State. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Accountancy from a University in Hong Kong after completing an exchange program with the University of British Columbia.

Before starting his own practice, Steven was a senior tax manager with HSBC Bank Canada, and a tax manager with Ernst & Young LLP.

 

Mohammad Ahmad Mohammad Ahmad
   

Leo had a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant in his home country, the Philippines, before he and his family migrated to Canada in 1997. Leo has a Bachelor in Commerce degree with a major in Accounting, and a Masters in Business Administration graduate degree (with honors) from the University of Baguio.

Leo lectured at the Vancouver Premier College of Hotel Management, where the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) recognized him as Member of the Faculty of Hospitality Instructors.

Leo worked as a contractor for Ellis Foster LLP, Chartered Accountants in 2000. In 2002, he started his own practice to provide tax preparation, bookkeeping, and accounting services to his clients which include construction companies, hotels, management firms, golf professionals, and several family owned businesses.

Mohammad has over 10 years of experience providing expatriate tax services to corporate and individual clients. He spent 5 years with Ernst & Young in their Vancouver and Toronto offices providing expatriate tax services to a broad range of Canadian, US and UK clients. He has also worked with other international accounting firms in Toronto and in the UK.

Mohammad is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and received his law degree from the University of Toronto. He has an undergraduate diploma in Managerial Accounting from Wilfred Laurier University and an Economics Degree from the University of Western Ontario. He sits on the Vancouver Board of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur) which is an organization dedicated to promoting global entrepreneurship.
